Samsung's 7nm Soc, the Exynos 9820

A report from South Korea's ET News has claimed that Samsung's upcoming 7nm Soc, the Exynos 9820, will have the world’s first dual-core Neural Processing Unit (NPU) manufactured with the 7nm EUV process.

It's not immediately clear what that exactly means, but the report suggests that EUV is the 'next generation exposure equipment ... in which a specific light source is shot on a wafer to engrave a semiconductor circuit'.

It's worth noting that the Exynos 9820 will not be the first NPU-embedded chipset from Samsung. The company had earlier this year unveiled Exynos 7 9610 as its first mobile SoC with an additional neural processor for enhanced photography.
